What Did I Do Wrong? is the first book of a three-book series sharing Eveline Sandy’s personal journey of resilience and perseverance. Born in the early fifties to a single mother in East Germany, Eve eventually moved with her mother to the United States to live with her mother’s new husband, another US serviceman whom Eve knew as Dad.
With this new man frequently absent and detached from their lives, Eve and her mother were regularly left alone to fend for themselves. They moved frequently, creating a very unstable family life. Even so, this was nothing compared to the trauma that would haunt Eve for the rest of her life. At twelve, she became the victim of a violent crime—an event that reverberates in her life even today.
Later, when she was in high school, her mother was diagnosed with cancer—and they were both permanently abandoned by the man she knew as her father. In her adulthood, she became a single mother herself, and her mother eventually lost her battle with cancer.
Even through all of the trials, tribulations, and triumphs that life has thrown at her, Eve’s immeasurable faith and trust in the Lord have helped and guided her, keeping her on the path of love and forgiveness.

I found this book to be very interesting. Quite a testimony to faith in the night seasons. Mrs. Sandy has been through a lot, but not more than she and God together couldn't handle! Praise the Lord for her mother who instilled in Eveline a huge faith ! That no matter what, we can always rely on God to be in the midst of even our darkest hours. To be with us and help us get through the storms of life.The book was a bit repetitive and perhaps a bit unprofessionally written and edited ( ie. grammar, spelling, cohesion, etc. ) but it was more than compensated for in heartfelt guts on the pages! I was brought to tears of woe for some of the writers difficulties and then exalting in her triumphs!
All in all a good read and I will be looking for the sequel.

This is a very well written and interesting book. Eve had a horrible life and has come through it gracefully. I would have easily given this 5 stars if not for her naivete and continuously making excuses for a mother who didn't take care of her. A child shouldn't have to be responsible for their parent.
What a wonderful book this is. It had me glued to it. I couldn't put it down. It is so inspiring to me, to see her faith,strength, and courage, carry her through so many hard times in her life. Eveline has a gift of expressing herself, openly, and boldly within her writings. You really get to know her, as you read her book. As she shares her experiences within her life, with us all. So we can be inspired, by her faith, her boldness, honesty, and integrity. Giving us hope.
I so highly recommend this book..and let's look forward to more.
What a great book!! I read it in 2 days, and did not want the story to end. Eve left me wanting to know MORE!!! I sincerely hope she writes another book continuing to show us her journey in life. I would love to hear how she reconnected with her father and how her husband and sons are doing.
I highly recommend this book for an emotional yet joyful captivating quick read.
My Aunt knows Ms. Sandy. I was visiting her in Mayer AZ. and she told me about the book. The book is powerful and shows how having God first in your life and with a supportive family you can get through anything. I am so glad that my Aunt Anna recommend this book to me! Awesome book!!

Kudos to Eve for the strength and courage it took to write "What Did I Do Wrong?" and for sharing it with us, the readers. Her abiding faith got her through all her trials and tribulations and made her the strong person she is today. I met Eve at the produce department of a grocery store, and we started to chat. It's amazing to me she can still remain positive and hopeful after all the pain she endured. I'm looking forward to Eve's next book.
